Whole Foods in Laguna Niguel – craft on tap

So I have driven by the construction site on Aliso Creek for a while now and anxiously awaiting the opening of the new Whole Foods Market. Yesterday was the grand opening of Whole Foods in Laguna Niguel so I figured today would be a better day to check it out. I popped in on my lunch break to check out the refrigerated beer selection to see if there was anything worth talking about on the beer soaked blog. Lo’ and behold… I was greeted with a beer menu with 12 beers on tap, all craft brews. I was not expecting that. But that’s not even the best part…

Happy Hour is 4-6 pm with $3 pints or $5 pint+pizza slice. Sounds like I found a new dinner spot.

This just in… Wookey Jack on tap!

Wookey Jack on tapOh yeah, that’s what I’m talking about!

I looked over the tap handles and asked the gal behind the bar which “Reserve Series” beer was on the Firestone tap. She didn’t know, so she poured me a taster. I took a sip and immediately let her  know it was the Wookey Jack. She took a glance at the chalkboard and didn’t see it listed. (They only had the Firestone Walker Hef and DBA on the chalkboard.) Next, she asked me if I was sure that’s what it was, she was going to call the manager to make sure. I assured her that I know my Wookey Jack and ordered a pint. It was even better than the bottle I had last week. If you see this stuff on tap, get it. It’s fricken fantastic! By far the best black IPA on the market right now.

Cheers!
