I want to tell you all about one of my favorite places to buy #craftbeer in Orange County. Since my write-up of Korker Liquor has been well received, I thought I’d share another favorite spot for craft beer in Orange County. I’ve mentioned this place many times in my beer reviews, as they are one of the local bottle shops where I have found some really great beers over the past year. Korker Liquor – Corona Del Mar

Every now and then we stumble across a place that we should have known about long ago. Whenever we do, we plan on sharing it with our readers. Korker Liquor is one of those places. It is a liquor store that we’ve driven past hundreds of times over the years, but never bothered to stop in… that is, until recently.
Korker Liquor is located on the ocean side of Pacific Coast Hightway just north of the MacArthur intersection in Corona Del Mar. Seriously, if you’ve ever driven down PCH through Corona Del Mar, you’ve definitely seen Korker Liquor.

If you look at the photo of the street view, just above the doorway… it says “CRAFT BEERS” in big bold letters. How could we miss that? Well, we did. Little did we know what else we were missing. Continue reading

Baycrest Wine and Spirits – Costa Mesa, CA

Pancakes and Beer!

A while back I had mentioned that I was on the hunt for another Stone Collaboration beer. Luckily, Beer Soaked Scott happened upon a new local spot for craft beer, Baycrest Wine and Spirits, in Costa Mesa. You may say “hey, that place isn’t new!” And you’d be right, but it was new to me as a craft beer shopping destination.

Now I’m sure some of you Costa Mesa / Newport Beach locals may already be familiar with this place as it’s been around since 1952, and is well known for selling winning Lotto tickets. It’s a family owned shop right on 17th Street in the Pancake House parking lot. I have driven past it hundreds of times, but never ventured in until Beer Soaked Scott told me about the craft beer selection a couple months ago. Continue reading
