The first brew in the new “Ales From The Dark Side” series, Black Perle is 90-minute, octo-hopped, dark IPA that weighs in at 9.5% abv and named for the German bittering hops, Perle, that were added during the beers unusually long 90-minute boil.
Call me Captain Jack Sparrow. Nutty, hints of coffee very smooth. RRRRRR!
Yeah, I know, you were expecting another IPA review. What can I say? We like our IPAs around here. But we drink other beers too, and this here is proof. This is an Imperial Stout. Not just any Imperial Stout, mind you, this is a Yeti. But not only is it a Yeti, it’s an Oak Aged Yeti. So let me start off by saying that if I ever come to your place and find an unopened bottle of Firestone Walker Double Jack in your possession I will force you to open it and share it with me. And I’m not a violent person, but I might even knock a pregnant woman out of the way to get this beer. So don’t make your pregnant wife go beer shopping for you, I’m just sayin’.
