First and foremost, an introduction.
I’ve been a beer drinker for 25 years now (counting the years my big sister would buy for me in high school). In my high school, college and military service days, beer was always about quantity over quality. Coors Light, Strohs, PBR, Keystone, etc…How much could you drink before you committed a misdemeanor, caused bodily harm to your best friend or passed out. My point is that I’ve been familiar with beer for a longtime, but I never really started appreciating beer until 3 or 4 years ago. Thanks to friends far more enlightened than my pseudo redneck self, I was turned on to the healing qualities of beers like Newcastle and Guinness. I know by today’s standards these aren’t very exotic beers, but for someone who was drinking Coors Light for the past 20 years, these were eye openers. unbeknownst to me, good beer had good flavor(s). I’m not a beer taster, I’m a beer drinker. I’ll be sharing what I think of the beers I drink and the stories that go along with them. Cheers.
