Tickets just went on sale today for the Firestone Walker Invitational Beer Fest taking place this summer on June 9th, 2012 in Paso Robles, CA. This is looking like its going to be a fantastic event. Firestone Walker is gathering together some of the best breweries to pour their beers at the event. There will also be food, music, and entertainment from the locals in California’s central coast. I’m really looking forward to it. Here’s some details from the site…
Tickets include free tasters of both beer and food (while supplies last) and the logoed snifter glass and access to all of the music. Festival-goers will also be able to purchase a more hearty offering of food if they would like a solid meal.
One of the really appealing things for me, as a craft beer fan, is that the brewers themselves will be on hand to talk about their beers. So we’ll get a chance to chat with the actual folks behind the beer, not just the sales force. (No offense to anyone in sales.)
This is a benefit for the Pioneer Day committee, which is dedicated to the preservation of the unique history and culture of Paso Robles with 100 percent of the net proceeds going to Pioneer Day. This festival is also a great opportunity to get people from all over the West Coast to come an see Paso Robles all that the Central Coast has to offer.
Timing is everything
The event will take place on June 9th, 2012 and my birthday is on the 10th. Yay, me! So I’m going to plan a central coast vacation (beercation?) for the whole family and spend a few days in the area. That’ll give me a chance to not only enjoy the event, but also visit the tasting room (see below), maybe a few wineries, and take in some of the other sights in central coast area. Oh, and I may even stop by and visit some family in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo… or maybe not. It’s my birthday after all, and I’ve got better things to do.
