So king of all laggers decides to put up a little something. Hopefully everyone had a great holiday and got to taste some great craft beer. And if you didn’t here is one at a great place to try.
So my fiance and I decided to drop in to Linx Dogs in Orange after meeting with a DJ for a wedding. Yep, BeerSoakedStew is getting hitched this year. Perhaps some craft beer will be flowing! So I got a Beer Brat described as the following:neurenberger bratwurst, bacon-apple kraut, beer mustard, pretzel roll. Hot damn! Paired that with an IPA from Kinetic Brewing Company from Lancaster, called the Propulsion. This wasn’t too hoppy, 70 IBU’s but you know me the hoppier the better; but I had never heard of Kinetic before so I thought I’d give it a try. If you stumble across this beer you need to get it! Very smooth yet full of flavor.
That is all for now. Cheers!
Tustin Brewing Company is one of our favorite local watering holes. Not only do they have a host of their own brews on tap, but they constantly rotate a bunch of taps bringing in guest kegs of amazing beer from other brewers as well.
This week is Russian River Week, a favorite week of ours because we love everything that Russian River Brewing Company makes. They are well-known for their IPAs and their sours and for good reason, they make some of the best beers in those styles.
Beer Soaked Scott and I took some time off work to wait in line for a ticket to taste Pliny the Younger. This is our true story… Continue reading
The other night I found myself in Garden Grove on a date night and so we popped into a craft beer place that I’d heard a lot about, but had not yet tried. Their tagline is “Globally inspired, seasonal cuisine, exclusive Belgian craft beers, engaging European hospitality.” My expectations were set pretty high, and The Globe met them all.
The Globe Dine Bar
12926 (Historic) Main St., Garden Grove, CA 92840 – (714) 537-7471
The restaurant is located on Main Street in historic downtown Garden Grove, (just a couple of blocks away from GGHS where Steve Martin graduated in 1963.) The cobblestone street gives it an old-timey look and feel. There was ample parking on the street and a huge parking lot behind Main Street, next to Coastline Community College. Continue reading
Coronado Brewing Company Tap Takeover
at Bru Grill and Market
The tap-takeover event happened about a month ago and It had all the makings of a fantastic beer soaked night out in El Toro. Good friends, good beer, and good food. But soon after we showed up, things seemed to go downhill. I had postponed this write-up because I was raised that if you can’t say anything nice you shouldn’t say anything at all. And
I usually try to keep it positive on this blog. So I’ve thought about it for about a month now, and I found some nice things to say. So here’s the story…
We were excited to see that Coronado Brewing Company was doing a tap takeover at one of our local craft beer restaurants. We are huge fans of Coronado’s Idiot IPA, and Guido has previously had a few great meals at Bru. So this seemed like an excellent combo and a win-win for everyone involved.
Unfortunately, we were less than impressed by both the staff at Bru and the brewery reps from Coronado. Continue reading
