Tried this Brown. Tastes more like a smoked Porter. Really good!

Beer, a Burg and perhaps a Mustache
What’s that? Another post from Stew in less than 6 months?!? How can this be? We’ll it’s a new year and being timely is on the agenda! So here goes: my GF and I recently went to the Steam Haus Gastro Pub in Corona last weekend for a late lunch. It was kinda slow but the service, beer and food was great despite what Yelp reviewers had to say.
The list goes from right to left as noted above…
What can I say about the Delirium that hasn’t already been said. It’s good, it’s Belgian so there you have it. The Inland Empire Brewing Company Victoria is an American Strong Ale that comes in at a whopping 11%. Very citrusy, very hoppy and very strong, what can I say, it was great! Next up was the Big Daddy IPA from Speakeasy. A good west coast IPA that wasn’t too strong, in at 6.5%. And last but not least in the flight was the Goose Island Mild Winter, American Mild Ale. I’ve never had anything from Goose Island before and this wasn’t overly strong but had a lot of flavor. Perfect to finish out the flight.
The MUSTACHE BURGER – Pat LaFrieda Beef* Patty with Portabella Mushroom Cap & a Horseradish Cream Sauce (not bad at $10 but no fries) And yes, we got some parmesan fries! And bacon mac n cheese!
More Info: (for those of you familiar with the area, it’s in the Dos Lagos shopping center across from Dos Lagos Golf Course).

That is all for now. Make the trek to Corona or if you’re in the neighborhood stop in, get a flight, a good burg and enjoy!

Brew Ho Ho – the not nearly as elaborate or bitchin as Erik’s post and other tastings/ramblings
Hello all –
Yes, I am actually posting this in a somewhat timely manner. Not 3 months later as with the Brew Ha Ha! Gotta love it. So without further adieu, here is my list from the Brew Ho Ho (from what I can remember):
Haven Brewery – Hell Ryed
Bootlegger’s – Holiday
Old Orange Brewery – Old Dummy
Hangar 24 – Warmer
Stone – Vertical Epic 12.12.12 and IPA
Rogue – Dead Guys
Ritual – Hellion
Epic – Red Ale
Ballast Point – Sculpin
Maui – IPA
Never had Hellion before but it was damn good. Keep a look out for it!
All in all a good day with my buddy Owen and we also met up with the Beer Soaked crew. Always a good time!!!
I happened to live in Orange and stumbled into Hollingshead with my good friend Christina who works for Duvel, Ommegang, Maredsous, etc for a nice tall mug of Pliny from Russian River. Just give them a holler and you just might get lucky and get a mug. This is a great place, just don’t tell them you are a Bears fan!
And just recently, again in Orange went to The Bruery Provisions and tried the Dogfish Head Hell Hound on my Ale
I got some tasty beer for Christmas and I’ll try to report on that in the not too distant future but more than likely it will be some time in late January 2013. I will say there is some Black Tuesday 2012 and some Bootlegger’s Knuckle Sandwich. Until then!
Cheers,
Stew
Port Brewing – Old Viscosity Ale

I stopped into Squatters Pub in Salt Lake City on my way up to Powder Mountain for the final week of the snow season. After trying the sampler, decided on the American Wheat hefeweizen. Smooth, almost creamy. Cloudy golden color … Continue reading
